Prerequisites: OPT 1330 and OPT 2090. Corequisites: OPT 1210, OPT 2222 and OPT 2800L. This course gives the basics of the properties of light. The principles of geometric optics are given, discussing refraction and reflection. Optical properties of prisms, lenses and mirrors are presented. Physical optics dealing with the wave nature of light are given. Discussion of human refractive errors and the lenses used to correct are also discussed. Three contact hours. A.S., A.A.S.
