Prerequisite: AER 1115. This course is designed with knowledge-based, performance-based and intern-based skills identified as standards for the automotive industry. Topics will include engine and head assembly to include ring, piston and connecting rods clearances. The complete block will be assembled with emphasis on manufacturer specifications and valve train timing. The knowledge skills represent theory of the topics and support the mastery of the performance-based skills for this topic. Twenty-two and one-half contact hours: fifteen lecture hours, seven and one-half laboratory hours. A.S., A.A.S.
