Prerequisite: AER 1290. This course is designed with knowledge-based, performance-based and intern-based skills identified as standards for the automotive industry. Topics will include theory, operation and repair of automatic transmissions and transaxles. Performance skills include the removal and installation of transmissions and transaxles along with the equipment used in those procedures. The knowledge skills represent theory of the topics and support the mastery of the performance-based skills for this topic. Twenty-two and one-half contact hours: fifteen lecture hours, seven and one-half laboratory hours. A.S., A.A.S.
