Prerequisite: ARE 1350. This course is designed with knowledge-based, performance-based and intern-based skills identified as standards for the automotive industry. Topics will include theory, operation and repair of todays automotive electrical and electronic circuits. Performance skills include specific repair procedures of wiring and connectors in electronic circuits, and construction and operation using safety protectors and identifying types of faults using circuit readings. The knowledge skills represent theory of the topics and support the mastery of the performance-based skills for this topic. Twenty-two and one-half contact hours: fifteen lecture hours, seven and one-half laboratory hours. AS., I.E.
