Prerequisite: AER 1007. This course is designed with knowledge-based, performance-based and intern-based skills identified as standards for the automotive industry. Topics will include inspection, diagnosis and repair of the brake system. Cleaning and adjustments will be performed. Brake component machining will be performed with emphasis on manufacturers thickness variations and specifications. Inspection of vehicle alignment will be covered in relation to brake diagnosis. The knowledge skills represent theory of the topics and support the mastery of the performance-based skills for this topic. Twenty-two and one-half contact hours: fifteen lecture hours, seven and one-half laboratory hours. A.S., A.A.S.
