Prerequisite: AER 1237. This course is designed with knowledge-based, performance-based and intern-based skills identified as standards for the automotive industry. Topics will include theory, operation and repair of output drive systems on todays automobile. Performance skills include the inspection and repair of differentials, driveshafts, drive axles, CV joints and universal joints. The knowledge skills represent theory of the topics and support the mastery of the performance-based skills for this topic. Twenty-two and one-half contact hours: fifteen lecture hours, seven and one-half laboratory hours. A.S., A.A.S.
