Prerequisite: AER 1105. This course is designed with knowledge-based, performance-based and intern-based skills identified as standards for the automotive industry. Topics will include engine block inspection and repair to include ring, piston and connecting rods. The complete short block will be disassembled and inspected with emphasis on manufacturer specifications. The knowledge skills represent theory of the topics and support the mastery of the performance-based skills for this topic. Twenty-two and one-half contact hours: fifteen lecture hours, seven and one-half laboratory hours. A.S., A.A.S.
