Prerequisite: AER 2356. This course is designed with knowledge-based, performance-based and intern-based skills identified as standards for the automotive industry. Topics will include theory, operation and repair of airbag systems. Performance skills include the diagnosis and repair of todays automotive air bag systems with emphasis on following prescribed safe handling and testing procedures. Component, electrical and electronic control systems testing will be performed. The knowledge skills represent theory of the topics and support the mastery of the performance-based skills for this topic. Twenty-two and one-half contact hours: fifteen lecture hours, seven and one-half laboratory hours. A.S., A.A.S.
