Prerequisite: AER 1455. This course is designed with knowledge-based, performance-based and intern-based skills identified as standards for the automotive industry. Topics will include theory, operation and repair of todays suspension systems including short/long arm, McPherson strut, torsion bar and leaf-spring suspensions. Performance skills include inspection and repair of systems and components with emphasis on manufacturers specifications. The knowledge skills represent theory of the topics and support the mastery of the performance-based skills for this topic. Twenty-two and one-half contact hours: fifteen lecture hours, seven and one-half laboratory hours. A.S., A.A.S.
