Prerequisite: AER 1236. This course is designed with knowledge-based, performance-based and intern-based skills identified as standards for the automotive industry. Topics will include theory, operation and repair of transmission and transaxle assemblies. Performance skills will include diagnosis, removal/ installation and repair of manual transmission and transaxle assemblies. The knowledge skills represent theory of the topics and support the mastery of the performance-based skills for this topic. Twenty-two and one-half contact hours: fifteen lecture hours, seven and one-half laboratory hours. A.S., A.A.S.
